March is here!  It's a time for hope with the weather changing and newness popping up everywhere (Spring for the northern hemisphere & Fall for the southern hemisphere).  I very much enjoy all who post comments and chatter on the blog.  You make my day.

Happy March everyone!

March already!?!?!?!?! WOW!!!

It is snowing HARD here today. Yuck!!

Happy March, we had snow and rain yesterday and cold today but beautiful blue skies with some white clouds.

Today is my first day off in 3 weeks and instead of enjoying the sunshine all I have done is pretty much nap on and off all day :-).

It does not seem like March here either. It is to get to 50 tomorrow and maybe the snow will melt amongst the rain, but it is sandwiched between two snow systems!

I tried to bring Spring into the house yesterday with March greens and Spring flowers. We really enjoy changing up our house and curtains and rugs and towels and blankets each month.

Right now we have the "feels like" temp of -5! Blah!! And when the thaw does come, I'll need a boat to get out of my apartment! We're gonna have a flood for sure!
Hummie B said…
Sort of for myself as motivation, but I counted the number of class threads I have left to get layouts out of and the number is:

1,055

Whew. Seems like a lot, but yet again, I've come so far! I wonder now how many I've already done. A lot it feels.

Just getting them downloaded is step one. Uploading is step two. But knowing they are securely downloaded is key for me. I can take my time on step 2.

A flood at your apartment, Dawn? Or are you just being silly? I never heard you say it floods there before.

I know when all this melts there will be lots of flooding. So glad my house is not in a flood zone, though.
Dawn said…
I'm sort of being silly, but sort of not. Last winter when we had the thaw, we had ankle deep water.
Bastet said…
Take care in the north. Snow, rain and flooding, doesn't sound at all nice.

We are having warm humid days at the moment. And finally, I have my air-con being installed tomorrow. Yeah!

Thanks for your prayers. Miss Imogen, my parents cat, passed early Sunday morning, and they have buried her under a flowering plum tree. It was very upsetting to get a tearful message on Saturday from them as I couldn't be there to comfort them (they live about 7 hours drive away now).

We're having gorgeous weather. Our winter has pretty much been non-existent this year. Snow pack in the mountains is really, really low. Not good.

Hope everyone has a great day today.

March brings Autumn/Fall to the southern hemisphere. Our days are getting a little cooler now, in some ways a relief from the high 30 deg C heat we've been having. Still, I'm not a fan of winter so while I will enjoy Autumn, couldn't we just then go back to Summer ;)
Tammy said…
I agree, Maggie. Winter is for the mountains. ;)
Jody Taylor said…
Summer has not yet let go here. They are forecasting 35deg C for us tomorrow, but should cool after that.. I always say, there is still a lot of hot weather in February and the beginning of March..

Just finished Course 2 Lesson 100. I think that is all the Course 2 Lessons done now. Very happy with myself.
Tammy said…
Congratulations, Jody!!!
Hummie B said…
I posted acknowledgment post for Jody! Whoo hoo! We haven't had anyone finish a class set in a while.

The office is closed today. Really bad weather on the way. Some are laughing on FB that the snow almost melted yesterday and we have a "snow day" today with nothing on the ground. Preemptive strike! But it's coming!

Now what to do with my day? Hang out here with you all?
Hummie B said…
Oh my! I've been spending my day working on moving from the guide to the forum (so far) and I'm working on Course 1 in case any more newbies get started (have you been welcoming them in the forum and offering to help & encourage them)...

Check this out!

What a trip down memory lane!

Some of you did your first layout here and are on this page and look where you are now scrapping!
Dawn said…
Oh. My. Goodness!!!!
Bastet said…
Enjoying the air-con we had installed yesterday. Been a very hot humid day.
Hummie B said…
Glad you got your air conditioner Bastet! Awesome!

Dawn, oh my what? lol

Aren't those old layouts I'm putting up fun to see?
Hummie B said…
912 class threads more to go to download images and info so I can put them on the guides. At least I'm under 1,000 now!

Some of these threads have hundreds of images.

Also still working on other threads to get that info out of the forum. Some of them I'm just copying and pasting to word documents for safe keeping. The 912 doesn't count those threads.

I'm worried about those who were always focused on post count in the forum. Am I making those people sad? I know someone mentioned they missed that the post count didn't work on the blog. Don't post to get a count, post to enjoy the conversation! That's my cheerleading for today. :)

Bastet, you are lucky you got it in before yesterday. I hid in ours too. I still have to get it in upstairs, but we are so bogged down with renovations downstairs, its way down the list.
Hummie B said…
Jody, what kind of renovations are you doing?

As an aside, I feel lonely on the blog the last 24 hours. Where's everyone at?
Bastet said…
Sounds like you have made great use of the office closure and had a productive day.

Had a night off the tablet to read a book I'm enjoying very much (Paris by Edward Rutherford).

Today I have to clean up the house from the air-con install as there was brick dust every where and on Wednesday night only cleaned the essentials. Hoping to find tome tomorrow to partake in my hobbies.

Congrats on course completion Jody. And yes the air-con install was well timed.

Have a great weekend all.

Any one interested in doing an email Bible study for eight weeks with the Love God Greatly - http://www.lovegodgreatly.com/ - plan? Starting March 23rd, 1st and 2nd Peter will be studied for eight weeks. If you're interested, send me an email at tammys_here at yahoo.com. I'll email you back from my normal email address. :)

Hummie, we are turning our home into dual living. We are putting in a bathroom and kitchen down stairs, creating a walk through wardrobe. Buiding a new laundry/sewing room, taking up all the slate flooring and putting new flooring in, putting in new windows, moving walls about. I have lost my library, it is becomming the kitchen in 2 weeks. I will do some layouts with before and after shots when its all finished. Its taking months.
Maggie Adair said…
well done Jody, what an accomplishment
Tammy said…
Looking forward to the before and after photos, Jody!
Hummie B said…
Wow Jody! That's a complete overhaul, moving whole rooms and walls. I cannot imagine! I agree with Tammy, we look forward to seeing before and after photos in layouts.

Tammy, http://www.lovegodgreatly.com/ looks interesting. I'd love to join, but hesitate in fitting one more thing on my to-do. I did follow the page. Maybe remind me when it gets closer and I'll re-evaluate.
Hummie B said…
So you are forming your own Facebook group, Tammy?

Maybe we could do it in comments here on the blog? Just a thought that might be fun and more visible, yet sort of private.
Hummie B said…
Third chatter post for me. lol Sorry.

Just wanted to share that I'm excited today to meet my new "Friendship Partner." It's an international exchange student program matching people with students. It gives them an opportunity to learn our language and culture, getting them off campus.

I'm taking her to dinner ... to eat Chinese! ah! So I get to learn more about her culture too.

It's through this:

No, Hummie, just email. Everyone would just hit reply to all and write what you'd gleaned ("SOAP"ed) in that day's reading. No pressure. If you miss a day, just pick it up the next day type of thing.
Hummie B said…
Gotcha! Okay. Yeah, that sounds like a cool way to do it. :)

I've never done the SOAP method of study before and I think it would be interesting to try some day. I've read about it.
Jody Taylor said…
Do you not normally eat Chinese Hummie? I love it.. Lately we have been so tired working each day that we have had quite a bit of take away.. Thursday night we had Chinese, Friday night Indian, Saturday night we had leftovers mostly, and Sunday here at the house is always Fish and Chip night.. Umm I might actually have to resort to cooking something tomorrow I guess.
With our dual living house. Our daughter and grandson will live up stairs and we will have the downstairs (when we are home to use it).

Tammy, the Love God Greatly study sounds like exactly what I need! I like that it will be email, and will provide accountability. I had 'pinned' their page earlier (maybe because you had posted about them?), and I do want to commit to this.
Do you need a message from me as well, or will this post work as a commitment?

I just read thru their FAQ, looks good. It looks like I need to go ahead and subscribe to the blog?
Tammy said…
Anita, yes I'll need you to email me, so I can get your email address.:) So glad you're joining me!!!
Hummie B said…
Jody, I like a lot of Chinese food, but don't normally get to eat it because hubby does not like it.

She canceled on me on Saturday having finals class work to do, so maybe next weekend will be a new opportunity.
