Deadline March 30 |JOIN US! Journey of a Book - A collective (like a Circle Scrapbook!)

We have done several of these collective books in the past and I was inspired today to begin another one. Previous collective book project included:

I was recalling from years ago when Circle Books were popular, mainly among paper scrapbookers.  What is a Circle Book?  One person would purchase a book, add some things to a page or two and then mail it to the second person, who added to the book and mailed it to the third person, and so on.  When done, the book was mailed back to the original person who had a fun treasure to keep!

I've always wanted to do one of these Circle Books, but honestly, I do not trust that everyone that it is mailed to will complete it and pass it on!  That is the beauty of digital scrapbooking.  We can do a Circle Book and do not even have to mail it!  How cool is that!

Often in Circle Books each person would add something from where they live.  This is such a fun theme and this is the theme of our book.

Our collective book will be called "Journey of a Book" and each person should submit a page that includes something special about where they live.  We shall take a journey through your graphics!  I have always loved how digital scrapbooking brings together people from around the world.  I love the unity and peace between countries and cultures.  What better way to show it!

One special note is that all pages should be done within a circle shape.  Make your graphic 8 x 8, but start with a circle and put all your photos and elements within the circle.  This will make our book feel consistent while flipping through the pages.

If you are a paper scrapbooker and want to join us, feel free to do it in paper, but scan it in and send it to us.

As in all other lessons and challenges here at Hummie's World, just upload it and link it to the linky on the blog.  I will find them, collect them, and put them into a book as I did in the previous ones.  You can also put the link in the comments below so I can be sure not to miss any.

Let's put a deadline on this of March 30.

Please comment below if you are going to join us!  This shall be fun!

What a wonderful idea. I love to travel and this will be a great way to do it vicariously through everyone's layouts. Count me in.

Marilyn, you can get it to me however you want! You can post to Photobucket and share a link, but people just won't be able to go comment. Or you could PM it to me on Facebook or Twitter or however you can get it to me.

jandbspiegel, so glad to have you and I look forward to getting to know you too!

I would like to do this! I am a bit challenged by digital art. If I have trouble, I will default to paper.:)

This sounds like so much fun... please add me to the list!

Welcome to the challenge all! Whoooooo hooooo! Do it however you need to do it. It's all about bringing our online community together from around the world. So we'll take you anyway you come!

I am sorry Hummie, I am going to withdraw. I have nothing to offer of the place I live. It is quite ordinary so I have no pictures of it, there is no town centre as such to take pictures of. All I could offer would be a picture of my street and the park down the road (think I have a pic of that).
My understanding is that you want scenery of the place. I can give you that for somewhere in Australia other than where I live, but not for here.
Hummie B said…
Jody, whatever makes you feel "home" is what you can include. Whether it be your street and park or something else nearby in your country. There are no rules to this challenge.
jandbspiegel said…
Jody, I would love to see the park and your street, if you want. You could just relate what that park means to you.

I submitted my page and it's nothing really special, just "My Town"

I want IN! But don't make me first. I want to see what others take on this is before I share. ;-) What a NEAT idea. Actually never heard of the old circle book idea, so this is brand new to me. Can't wait to get started. I'll check out your links.

I have 5 official entries at this point. Excited!

Welcome MiniCooper! Glad to see you on the blog and around the site again! I promise I won't put you first in the book. It will probably be alphabetical by name. lol Which means AMarie is probably first.

Welcome Heather!

How are these going Hummie? How many do you have?
Hummie B said…
I only have 5. I haven't even gotten mine done, so I was thinking yesterday I would extend the due date.

Many people who said they would do it have not.
Tammy said…
I'll be posting mine tomorrow. :)

I have every intention of doing mine. This week has just been SO busy. I wanted to walk downtown and take some pics, but it has been too cold and icy out. We are supposed to be getting warmer temps, so I am looking forward to maybe tomorrow late afternoon to go and do that.

I would really love to try this out! I have never done anything like this before. I have spent the better part of 2 years severely depressed and recently I have decided to make many changes in my life and this sounds like it would be really fun! I am going to go re-read everything just to make sure I understand what I need to do.

Thanks so much!!!
