A Hungry Feast

I've heard communion described as "a hungry feast." We leave the table with our hungers only partially filled. The small piece of bread and the sip of juice do not fully satisfy one's hunger or thirst. The grace received certainly completely covers all our sins, yet the sinful self still remains. In the sacrament, we receive a "taste of heaven," yet we will walk out the doors into the corrupt world. Christ is present in the sacrament, yet we are still waiting for Christ to come.
