June 24 . . . a Wedneday

In the morning I had struggles again.  I finished my re-created layout and did the video for a new course lesson and I was excited to be progressing, but I had not logged into the server from Dreamweaver yet and I remembered how I had problems every time.  I thought I would avoid the problems by calling the hosting to have them help me right away rather than trying to figure it out myself.  To no avail, I could not get the server to log in to FTP through Dreamweaver.  I had to cut off the help guy on the phone because I had to get ready to go to work.

I also tried simply updating my html page in Dreamweaver to find many parts of the interface had changed with the new 2015 CC that came out in correlations with my laptop crash.  So I am spending not only extra time getting my laptop up and running, but also extra time learning the new interface.  Timing is the key!

When I cannot get a project done before I leave for work, I get frustrated.  I have to learn to let go of that.

At lunch I browned some ground beef and we had tacos.  They were yummy.

During lunch I was able too get my html page done and uploaded and my new tutorial shared.
After work, hubby had finished painting the wood on the patio roof.  I love the way it looks.  The white doesn't match with the metal part and where he got the white paint on the metal roof looks a bit funny, but it's not that noticeable and we aren't going to be looking at the roof that much.  Hopefully the carpenter bees aren't going to be looking at it that much either!

After work, I did a layout for the competition and when I went to link the technique tutorial to the blog post, I realized the class guide page was gone.  Then I realized all but a few pages were gone!  What!  Dreamweaver had deleted my entire site!

This was found after hubby and I watched t.v. and ate popcorn for dinner and after I did the cleaning job, so it was rather late, almost 11 p.m. when I discovered it.

So thankfully the files were still on my EHD and I began uploading them.  It counted them for me.  13,701 files on the server!  Wow!  That is a lot of work over the years.  This doesn't even include any forum or gallery files.  These are straight html files and mostly the images that go on them, plus some download files.  Just Wow!

I had to stay awake until it was done because if my computer when to auto sleep, it wouldn't finish.  I suppose I could change the laptop settings and I need to, but I just wanted to make sure it was done.  It was nearly 1 p.m. before they were all uploaded.

Now I'm going to be tired tomorrow.

Why does everything have to  be so hard?  I don't understand why Dreamweaver without me clicking anything deleted everything from the server.  It must have been syncing wrong somehow.  How frustrating.

It's always two steps forward and one step back, and sometimes one step forward and two steps back.  Such a fight always to do anything.
