7-Up Pound Cake

This seems to be an old, but classic recipe. Anyone ever make this one? I know there are other recipes with soda in them. Do you have a favorite?

7-Up Pound Cake

2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 (10 oz.) bottle of 7-Up
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1-1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Cream butter and shortening. Mix together sugar and eggs, then flour and 7-Up and then flavoring. Cook in the middle of oven for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees in a preheated oven.

Never made the cake, but it sounds good. I like hot milk cake, but I haven't made it in years. I would have to look for the recipe.
Sounds good! I used to make cola chicken and that was good.

You have definitely brought back beautiful memories for me and this quick fix dessert. When my Young Adult Choir would visit me and we had imprompto rehersals, I would always whip up this cake and serve it warm. Now, I am not going to say how many years ago did I do this, but my Allergist took me out of the kitchen in 89 because of severe allergies. My daughter continued the baking in the family until she got lazy. A fun recipe and simple to make, yet pleasing in taste and appearance. Oh girl, you know how to lay it on thick and catch your viewers attention.

Have fun with your new PSE-6 YEAH!!!
silly me. I guess it would be smart for me to add the link to my cola chicken to your post:
