2.  ONLY add links to layouts of lessons or challenges at Hummie's World.  You can add any layouts to the gallery, of course.
3.  Begin title with the lesson/challenge name and number.
P.S.  You can also share with everyone on Facebook.

Here is your chatter and layouts post!  I am doing just one per month so that when you post, click the button to receive email notifications to be alerted when others post so you can be reminded to come back and chat.

It's been too slow around here.  July was the slowest month with so few layouts submitted.  Will August and back to school change things?

Wishing you a happy Monday.
Back to normal with hubby and my schedule.
But I'm feeling depressed about the site, having trouble feeling motivated.

Happy Monday Hummie. I'm so sorry that you are feeling depressed :( Even though I have been having a hard time getting to visit my favorite blogs and work with my digiscrapping lately I still really appreciate everything you do!

Thanks Tara. I appreciate your kindness.

Hoping your week ends up being a good one, Hummie. I appreciate all you do!!

Thanks Anita. This weekend is our 29th wedding anniversary. I think we are going camping again, with the dogs, and just relaxing (no vacation touring).

Happy 29th weding anniversary, Hummie & Hub-E!
Thanks for the new template. It's summertime, and many of us are busy outdoor. Activity will come back on September, I guess.
Please, take time for you, take time for just scrap. Enjoy rest. It is slow in the whole digiworld on Summer. Hugs.
Hummie B said…
Thanks Anne-Marie.

Hey everyone! I haven't scrapped in over a week...So, to catch you all up. We have our first granddaughter (fourth grandchild)!!! She is gorgeous. Mommy is doing great and so is Daddy. It was a rough few days as baby was losing more ounces than the hospital wanted her, too, but she's putting them on now and they aren't having to do daily visits to the doctor for weighing now. There's a photo at my blog.

Our son got married Saturday and I gained a TOTALLY amazing daughter-in-love. Don't know when I'll see them again as they headed to Bible school (3 states away) after their wedding.

On Tuesday, my man and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary.

So between baby visits, house guests (which are all gone now), driver's ed classes for my youngest son, and today a dental visit, I haven't scrapped a thing. There were a couple days that I didn't even turn on my computer! Hopefully today I will get some scrapping done!! I have missed it.

Happy anniversary, Hummie!!!!! Hugs on being down.
Tammy said…
I don't like not being able to edit...my sentence in the above post should say...more ounces than the hospital wanted her to. Not too.

Hey! It's me again. ;) Just read your email, Hummie and I said a prayer for you and am sending you love and hugs and thanks!!!!

Hummie,

I appreciate you so much! You have contributed to my life in the area of scrapbooking, but also in the area of my spiritual life - so many challenging and encouraging words posted, and I appreciate every one of them

I have been liking the daily email reminders (I'm stuck in the 'email dark ages'), so many things competing for my attention, but I do eventually get through my emails. If I haven't done that for a day or two, I just click on your most recent one, then come here and catch up. It works well for me!

I'm actually liking your blog format a lot. I do miss the gallery, but I totally understand why you had to eliminate it; and I feel like you have come up with wonderful, workable solutions. Thank you for the huge amount of time and effort you have expended to do this!

I'm so glad you are still here!!

Love & prayers,
Anita

Tammy,

So glad to hear about all the exciting things happening in your life! I just went to your blog and took a quick look - your granddaughter is adorable! So glad she's putting on weight now. [My grandson born in May was a month early, and we were happy when he began to gain.] God is good!

Wow, anniversary, wedding, student driving - lots to celebrate - you've been busy!!

Lori,

I'm glad you have found sites where you are able to sell your products and keep busy.
Also, if you couldn't be active when there was a forum, your reasoning is faulty. Enough said.

Thanks for the prayers, Tammy. Already commented on your blog.

Hummie, I read your email and am sorry that you won't be sending the ones with the links. Depression is a very serious illness (I should know I suffer from clinical depression, not something I usually share) and I'm praying that you will get guidance to find some help with it. Since you don't want us to email you privately I will not go into detail but I have been dealing with some severe health issues this last year that are escalating in the last few months that may jeopardize my ability to take care of myself. I have not scrapped not have I reached out to anyone the only thing I manage to have the energy to do after working is check my emails and read your emails and go to most links. I find your quotes and stories very inspiring and I'm going to do my best to come to your blog but being on the computer for very long has been giving me headaches so I do think of you even if I don't communicate or participate and you probably won't hear much from me but I will be around and praying that you figure out what is best for YOU. You matter!!!! I'm not re-reading this for errors as I will delete it so I apologize in advance for grammatical or spelling errors.
Hummie B said…
Mary Ann, it breaks my heart to read how severe your health issues are! I cannot imagine being that exhausted at the end of a day. Shall we pray for a miracle?

I don't think I have anything but normal depression. I think everyone in life goes through ups and downs and gets depressed during the down times. Those that can never be pulled from being down are those that do need medical help. I have lots of up days! I'm just in a rut right now.

Just remember to save a link to the blog and click to it every day to read. I'll still send out emails as I have time or something comes along I want to share; just turned off the automatic one for now.
Ann Laffin said…
I'm one of the "silent majority". I (almost) literally don't ever post on anything. Maybe I think I have nothing of interest to say. But I love to read what other people write and I think all your classes and lessons are so interesting and valuable. Please know that even though I (and others, I'm sure) don't participate, we are out here...

Happy Friday everyone!!!!!! :) The sun is shining and it's a new day.

I saw a typo in my comment so couldn't help myself and had to delete it! Meant to say...felt good to get a layout done and thank you again for the template. I wish there were more hours in the day to do all the things I'd like to do. Scrapbooking has definitely taken a back seat for some time. Need to make it more of a priority! Designing seems to suck all my time up.
Tammy said…
Hope everyone is having a good day. My man is at work and there's nothing to do but scrap. Giggle. Oh, and laundry. And dishes.
anitab said…
But, laundry and dishes don't count, right? ...you'll just have to do them again...

Hey y'all! Have a great Sunday. Rainny day here, but really needed this rain. So good after these months of dry sunny weather.

Hey everyone! I am sitting here typing this when I should be in bed, but oh well lol!

I'm home from Florida! I got home very early in the wee hours of Saturday morning. I'm still feeling pretty sluggish, but trying to get back to normal. I did a lot of fun things including holding an alligator!! I'm waiting for the pics from my friend and I'll share them on Flickr so you can see.

I'll post more later when I'm more awake, but I did want to pop in and say hello. :)

Hummie B said…
Ann, thanks for coming and posting. I know not everyone is comfortable posting online and I appreciate you taking the time to do so. Glad to know there are silent readers, but feel free to join us from time to time so we can get to know you.

Char, (Pixel Design) wow, so good to see you are still around. I'm glad you had time to scrap. How is the designing and selling going?

Dawn, glad you are back from your two trips to Florida. I would never want to be that close to Alligators!

It's back to work Tuesday for me and time to blog the past three days and get back on track of doing things. . . if I can muster up the motivation.
Tammy said…
Happy Tuesday. :) Granddaughter has gained back and surpassed her birth weight by 5oz. We are all so happy and relieved.
Char said…
Yep, I'm still around! Designing is going good. I go back and forth between Illustrator and Photoshop. Probably 60-70% in Illustrator. I love the ability to scale designs with no issues. Also, I'm learning to make "painted" watercolor creations in software like ArtRage and Rebelle. The Rebelle software has the coolest canvas tilt feature. The "paint" actually runs! As for selling, there is a lot of competition and persistence is key. :)
Hummie B said…
Tammy, Glad your granddaughter's weight is going up! Good news!

Char, I want to learn Illustrator. I need time away from other stuff to learn though. I have had ArtRage a long time. It's great. I've never heard of Rebelle. That sounds really cool.
I see it is $60 http://www.escapemotions.com/products/rebelle/

Carla put up a challenge round up post.

I have a free evening. Can I make myself get something done?

Hummie B said…
It's almost midnight. I could not get started tonight, as has been the case. I finally resolved one of my Windows 10 problems which has been nagging me keeping me from thinking on other things. I ended up taking a lot of time on two devotionals and blogging them. Finally I got started on a project that has been brewing for some time now.
AMarie T said…
Does someone here still pay attention to the gallery and layouts in the linky? Sounds like it is not a digital scrapbooking site anymore but only a personnal blog. I'm so disapointed.
Hummie B said…
AMarie, you are feeling my same sadness. It is why I posted that post about feeling in a rut and not able to get motivated to do any new content. Why should I work so hard when no one is going to do anything anymore? In fact, my sadness is really deep because I have put so many years and so much time into the site and I am mourning a huge loss. I spend so much time trying to drive people here to do things or to even look at the layouts that I wonder if that is a good use of my time. I get these thoughts that no one cares and I should just delete it all.

There are some activities going on in the new Facebook group.

I'm trying really hard to get out of the funk.

Thanks so much for doing some layouts, AMarie. I see you started the title class.
I really appreciate you being here always helping me to keep the site feeling at least a little bit active. I appreciate that you care about it. I just wish more would.
AMarie T said…
Okay, but FB group is closed for all those who have not an account, so I cannot access. I began a new class, Title challenge, and even you don't pay attention to my layouts. If you don't, who will do ?
AMarie T said…
My post came after yours... So, I saw you just put comments on FlickR. Thanks. Better late than never :)
Why the linky isn't stuck on top anymore as it was before? It is actually hidden on the left menu and it seems everyone forget that exists.
Hummie B said…
Yes, I see you posted them a few days ago. I think I saw them, but I always download and save for the guide pages and I just did not feel like doing that extra work. I am really in a rut mentally and trying really hard to get out of it.

I can stick this post to the top again, but I found it never helped. I am very discouraged.

I will move it again to see if there is a difference.

I was thinking I could always make them viewable later, that way they would be buried and not annoying for some.

I just remembered I forgot to the do Flickr photography challenge. I was thinking that would be fun. Tuesday was "escape" theme.

Hi everyone, just checking in. I have been really sick since last Wednesday and today is the first day I have started to feel better. I have had some health problems that are escalating and this was the worst attack, the doctor doubled my medication which then caused some bad side effects. Stable for now and hoping I feel well enough soon to try to do a layout, it would be my first in months.

Hummie, it is so distressing to see you so low, I enjoy your blog posts and AMarie, what you do with your layouts is just amazing and though I don't always comment I always try to look and was clicking the like on them and Hummie's posts. Please neither of you stop you are appreciated more than you know.

Hi all! Tomorrow is our anniversary, and we are going to spend the weekend camping with my daughter & her family at their Family Camp. Our son-in-law will be the speaker on Sunday morning - he just got back from a trip to Taiwan - and we are looking forward to hearing him. Plus - looking forward to a chance to love on the three grandkids!

Hi all,

I'm finally making progress on the template guide which was making me stall as I couldn't make myself do it so I could get out the next template set in the store. It's been sitting on my desktop staring at me.

I renumbered everything to make it easier for me to understand and even relinked it all.
However, in order to add layouts, I have to expand it even further so each template has it's own page. I have layouts on pages through #10 and I just created pages 11 - 15, but hubby and I are leaving out to see a barge boat that's docked downtown that is free to get on, I think. It's only here until 11 a.m. So although Saturday morning is my best work day, I'm doing something for "hubby time" instead.
Tammy said…
Have a fun time, Hummie!!! Hubby's are more important! :)

Happy Sunday all! Make it a great one!

Let's see what I can get done today!

I went ahead and blogged my last three days anyway. I got to thinking about how my blog posts show the little things I enjoy each day and that how that in itself is a testimony of being grateful to God and that I didn't want to stop doing that.
Mary Ann said…
Happy Sunday everyone. I upgraded to Windows 10 from Win 7 so am busy learning new ways. I'm off to read your blogs Hummie, I really enjoy them.

Happy Monday morning all!

I woke at 5 a.m. and I've actually been busy working on this prep work for the next tutorials that I'm working on with Tara.

I've got a busy day planned. Possibly may start teaching a night class this week, but time will tell.

Mary Ann, overall I like Windows 10. It does take a little time to learn. I did have some techy problems with the store and do struggle with the Photo app as I do not like it. So I'm learning my way to use Bridge more and I did go back and install Windows Live Photo Gallery again as it views images the old way before the new Photo app. Overall, I do like it better.

Anita, glad you had a great anniversary! Glad you are back and thanks for the encouragement.

Wow! What an evening I had yesterday. I was exhausted (as blogged).
Couldn't do anything this morning.
I am teaching this week! Yikes! I'm glad for a free night tonight and only pray I can stay motivated to prep for the class and maybe work on stuff for here.

Hi All. Finally have some time to go online other than for work since hubby and grandson are at the beach on vacation and just me and the dog are at home keeping the "work" fires burning ;) Mary Ann, I see that you upgraded to Windows 10 from 7 (which is what is on my laptop). I've reserved Windows 10 and asked if it was compatible with PSE 11 but no one has answered my question at Microsoft. Do you use Photoshop Elements and do you know if it still works with the new upgrade? And if not, can you, Hummie, tell me if you might have any experience with the new Windows 10? I don't want to download it if it's not going to work with Photoshop Elements.....

I went at the end of July to a CKC convention with some ladies I met online with Splitcoaststampers and it's the first time in years that I've paper scrapped. Can't say that I truly enjoyed the crafting part of the convention but it was fun to hang with ladies my own age that enjoy crafting and I did actually finish a 2 page spread that also has a mini album with it and it turned out great!

I'll have to read back through at least August to see how everyone is doing..wishing you all well.

Hummie,,,I'm sorry your class was postponed since you spent so much time preparing but looking on the bright side, that part is done now for next week.

Mary Ann said…
Hi Terry, I use Photoshop CC not elements. I do know that your old Windows is saved so that you can switch back if you want and when I reserved my copy it did a scan and told me of one program that was not compatible with Win 10. Turns out that by the time I downloaded the program was upgraded by the developer to work with Win 10. I have never paper scrapped only digiscrapped and can't even imagine trying to do it any other way :-).
Hummie B said…
Hi Terry! Good to see you!

The Windows app will tell you if your computer is compatible with 10. It told me that my old laptop did not have the right graphics driver, so I cannot upgrade it. It will work with your Photoshop Elements just fine.

Here is my blog post about how to check your computer. Scroll down to the last image and the text there to read how.

Here's my post with screen shots as I was upgrading. The upgrade is rather easy to do.

Well, I recorded a video today on creating doodles! It's processing and I should get it up later today. Then I'll do some videos on how to color them digitally. Hopefully I will have all this new content up soon. I'll be so glad to have actually accomplished something!
Tammy said…
Happy Friday!! :)

Thanks for the assurance that Windows 10 is compatible...that makes me feel better. I think tonight I am going to flatten and save PSD files to jpgs so I can send off to Persnickety to have 12x12 prints made and THEN I'll update to Windows 10. Those digi files (over 100 of them now) are the only really important things (other than photos) that I've got on my laptop. So I'll back up the pics too before updating.

Thanks so much for letting me know.

And Mary Ann, that's the first time since 2008 (I think) that I've actually paper scrapped and it was only because I got the kit as part of the class I paid for; otherwise I'm strictly digi now (no mess :))

Have a good day everyone...I'm cleaning since the exterminator is coming Monday morning and with no boys in the house, it's been pretty quiet with no interruptions.
Hummie B said…
I'm working on my videos! Yeah! Trying to use my Saturday morning to finish the project. I'm writing this while the first one is processing. I had to wait for my programs to update before I could begin working, then I had to play with it in PSE and discovered it had to be done differently in that version.

Off to play with the second version while this processes so I can record that video this morning too.

Then I hope to get all three videos uploaded and on the guides and blogged and emailed and and and.... it takes forever to do new content.
Mary Ann said…
Happy Saturday everyone, I just got home from work so am enjoying the thought of having the rest of today and tomorrow off to play with my computer :-).

I have a question, can anyone point me to a tutorial that shows how to put a shape onto a mask? I think I'm explaining that right. I see screenshots where someone has taken an adjustment mask/layer and they put for instance the wave shape right on it in black which creates the shaped mask on the underlying photo.

I sure hope this makes sense :-).

Hummie, what class are your new videos under?

Well, I'm off to learn how to create a recovery drive and then how to re-partition my hard drive as it is a 1TB and it cam as 2 almost equal size drives and neither drive is really big enough on it's own for my files without splitting them which I don't want to do.

Have a great day.
Hummie B said…
Mary Ann, do you mean making a black shape on a mask? I would first create the shape and then make a selection of the shape. Then I would click on the mask and hit control or alt (one does foreground color and the other does background color, so depending on which is which you have) and backspace key. This will fill in the "white reveals" and "black conceals" onto the mask.

I have that in tutorials, but I cannot think of a certain one.
I've had this idea before and I know I intended on doing a video if I haven't done one before! lol When you have so many videos sometimes it's hard to remember.

I thought I had done the creating doodle video before and then could not find it. I know I've done the prep work on it years ago. So I did another one.
Hummie B said…
Happy Sunday!

3 new videos are up! I blogged about them. Whew! That was A LOT of work!

Thank you Hummie, that is what I was looking for, I will have to give it a try. Thank you for the new tutorials, I'm excited to learn how to color digitally.

Hummie, I played around with one of the videos you just posted (designer 70) and looked at a few of the designer beginning tutorials. I am not sure where to share it with you so you can check to see if I am on the right track but since this is where layouts get shared I figured this would be right? Here is my dropbox link. I will figure out where to put it on my blog after I get the ok that I did this correctly :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/80mysnpstu6grl6/TaraD_Psalm94_18.zip?dl=0

Thank you. . . so much fun!

Anne-Marie, yes, that class was on my mind, but you were the only one to do it.

I've actually been chatting with someone today and have some ideas to take the Digital Bible Journaling to a new angle and that seems to be where I'm being lead right now.

Also, I have my class to teach Thursday that was postpone last week, so I do need to spend a little time this week in my course outline for Thursday night's teaching.

I actually have another class which I think may go over well in my idea bank.

Just getting past my funk and getting rolling is step one and I think I'm coming up hill finally from being down at the bottom for a while.

Absolutely love teaching! It brings me so much joy! However, there always seems to be that one student to mess it up. I never know what to expect. Awesome students tonight, but one must have been made to come by her mom, straight out of high school, and I had to bring out my "mom skills" when my professionalism left the building after two hours of her attitude. Minus one, it would be the best students ever. ‪#‎timeforwine‬
