Standing on the Border of Decisions

I've been struggling in thought today on whether or not closing borders is the right thing to do. Certainly sitting on the border of indecisiveness and not taking a stand, letting the politicians and media handle it, is not the right thing to do. The Bible tells us not to sit on a fence.

"I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth." Revelations 3:15-16

My friend shared this today and it got me thinking on one side of the border/fence:

In reflection this morning, due to what God and Jesus Christ have done for me, I say open the doors and let the refugees in. Jesus said... " what you do to the least of these, you do to Me." With the book of Revelation unfolding before our eyes, all we have to lose is salvation. True any one of those refugees could be a terrorist, but any one of them could be Jesus Christ. Come Lord Jesus, be our guest.

Then I consider, God wants us to be wise and protect ourselves and there are other means of helping the refugees, so closing borders is not really saying, "no."

And then I opened a random blog post to repost as I do often, and I read about risks.

Lord, help us to make wise decisions and choices.  Give us wisdom.  Amen.

(probably to be edited as I think more)
