December 24 . . . a Thursday
I did not sleep well at all. I was awake from about 2 a.m. until 5 a.m. and it seemed my stomach was bloated and then I would fart and belch and feel better and then I would get bloated again and repeat. I was on my phone a lot in the middle of the night.
My hubby said this so I made an image on my phone of it and it made me laugh and I hoped it made others laugh.
I saw this quote so I made this image on my phone and thought it was a good way to start thinking towards New Year's and try to skip over Christmas.
Miss Tizzy woke me up around 8:30 and it was around 9:30 before I could get moving because I was so tired.
I did the devotion stuff and whatever else in the morning.
Around noon we began painting the living room with the other color. Our idea is to paint one room one color and the other room the other color and then decide which one is the better color.
The bedroom is so ugly. Last summer when we redid the floors I told hubby to "white wash" the green walls that really needed it, but he used this really old ugly can of paint that was not even the same color and the walls in the bedroom became super ugly. I could hardly stand it all these months.
I was amazed at all the dust and dirt we found in just six months as we moved the furniture to paint. We really need to stop being so busy redecorating to be able to just pick a different room each weekend and clean it thoroughly.
We went crazy google eyed while painting. The paint seemed to be peachy when we first put it on and it was a horrible color. I think it was the green reflecting onto the new paint making it look peach. After we finished the whole wall, it started to look better. We painted the back of the door and even the closet doors for the first time which still had the original wood stain on them.
It seemed to take forever to paint just two walls and we seemed to be moving much slower than with the other bedroom last weekend. We stopped so hubby could go to the store to get more paint as we could tell we would not have enough to finish. We couldn't figure out why we were using so much more paint in this room than the other room that took only less than a gallon for the whole room. While he was gone I put some pizza's in the oven and did a little blogging.
I always do the bottom half of the wall and hubby the top half of the wall. When we started on the last two walls, shoving all the furniture to the other side of the room, it again started looking peachy. It was really weird because the newly painted wall looked peach and when we turned to look at the already painted walls they looked okay as a beige/linen/sand color. It was playing tricks on our eyes and changing colors constantly. It was really weird!
It was about 8 p.m. before we finished. I began to put a few things back on the walls. This is the artwork my Grandma Geile sewed and they had in their bedroom.
I was anxious to see what the color looked like in the daylight of the morning. After all this work, would we like it? Anything was better than that green!
We had hours to spend before church at 11 p.m. What would we do for the next four hours to stay awake? I had a headache for most of the day from lack of sleep already and now I had to stay awake four more hours.
We kept cleaning the floors where paint had spilled and sort of putting things back in place so we had a place to sleep for the night. We watched some of the I Love Lucy Christmas show that was a replay of years in the past.
Church was so pretty with lots of lights. When we drove the streets where nearly empty, but it was so adverse to see the church parking lot and pews so full. By the time service started, I do not think there was an empty place in the church.
The light for the organist messed up my view a little bit, but I still rather enjoyed the end with the candles. We always do. There was a lot of great music and moments in the service, although I was struggle with my headache and being tired.
Of course, I took my phone out and took photos. Absolutely loved singing Silent Night and looking around at the candles.
I think it was after 1 p.m. when we went to sleep. Surely I would sleep well.
